“What interests me? Wrinkles, Scars. Dirt. Things so trifling that they seldom attract others’ notice.”
Akinori Miura (Akita, Japan, 1953) has finished his bachelor degree at thy Tokyo Gakugei Universite. He works with metalpoint, graphite and Chinese inkt on panel and knows how to realistically image the reality. You feel the need to take a look at the painting from nearby. Miura succeeds in imaging everyday things in an unique way. Women, standing or lying, have their backs facing to the spectator and are draped in a cloth. The strong black-white contrast makes sure that all the details are visible. The artist focusses on show things as they are.
