The Female Gaze

22 April - 20 May 2023

The Female Gaze is a term used in recent years to describe art that undermines the ubiquitous male perspective. It's a way to describe the way visual media can depict a female view of the world. But is there such a thing as a ‘male’ or ‘female’ gaze? Do women artists create different artworks than male artists? One thing is certain: we will only be able to identify such a female gaze and contribute to a more diverse range of perspectives if we devote attention to women painters.

This group show is an homage to women artists and their views on this subject.  Welcome to the second edition of The Female Gaze!
