Mario ter Braak and Peter Hartwig in the Drents Museum

From now on the exhibition" Monumentaal Assen "can be seen in the Drents Museum!'

The remarkable collection of Assen Cityscapes, all commissioned by mr. W.H. Berghuis, is now owned by the State of the Netherlands, which has given it on permanent loan to the Drents Museum.

This exhibition is a selection, which also includes the two works by Mario ter Braak and the great work by Peter Hartwig.

Next year the extensive catalog with all works in it will be published!

The exhibition runs from January 13 to June 24.

In the painting shown here measuring 200x200cm, Mario ter Braak has cows marched in front of the empty barracks along the canal there. (Painted as a party with Karel Buskes (the only time, incidentally, that Mario also painted cows).)

You may have seen this work before when you visit the Museum in Assen, because it has been there for a long time as a long-term loan.
